Getting started in 10 minutes

YadenOne Books helps you keep the records a UK limited company needs – without accounting jargon.

  1. Add your company details. Open Settings and enter your incorporation date, financial year end and (if you have one) your VAT status. Books then calculates your deadlines.
  2. Record every sale and cost. Go to Transactions, press Add transaction, enter the date on the invoice, the net amount, any VAT, a category and upload the receipt.
  3. Check the dashboard. You see profit so far this financial year, your next deadlines and what still needs attention (missing categories or receipts).
  4. Run reports. Reports shows profit & loss, month by month, an estimate of corporation tax, the VAT return boxes and an accountant pack (ZIP).
  5. After you file, close the period under Filing periods so the numbers you used cannot change by accident.

Tip: if you also use the YadenOne portal for invoices and freelancers, those invoices appear here automatically – see “Freelancers & portal invoices”.

General information, not tax or legal advice. Rates and dates change – always check GOV.UK.
