Freelancers & portal invoices

If you run the YadenOne portal, invoices flow into Books automatically for the linked company account:

  • Customer invoices (sent, paid or overdue) become income.
  • Freelancer invoices – both those created in the portal and approved uploads – become expenses in the category “Freelancers & subcontractors”, including the PDF where available.
  • Income and expenses you enter in the portal’s finance area are included too.

Books keeps net amount and VAT separate and converts foreign currency at the ECB rate. Cancelled or rejected invoices are removed again – unless the entry is in a closed filing period. Entries from the portal are read-only in Books; click Edit myself if you want to change one here (it then no longer follows the portal; nothing is deleted).

Paying freelancers: freelancers are normally self-employed suppliers – you pay their invoice in full and keep it as a business expense. Check IR35/off-payroll rules if a worker acts like an employee.
