Foreign currency (EUR, USD …)

UK accounts are kept in pound sterling. When you enter an invoice in another currency, Books converts it to GBP using the European Central Bank rate of the invoice date. The rate and its source are stored on the entry for your audit trail.

If the automatic rate is unavailable (or your bank gave you a specific rate), enter a manual rate – the number of pounds for one unit of the foreign currency, for example 0.86 for one euro.

Weekends and bank holidays use the last available rate.
